ABOUT ME
James Logue is a dedicated husband and father, public servant, combat veteran, and community leader running as a Democrat for Hawaii State Senate District 13.
Born and raised in a low-income household, James understands the daily challenges facing working families. As a father, he is deeply committed to creating better opportunities for Hawaii’s youth and strengthening our neighborhoods.
James served 8 years in the United States Army as a Military Police officer and has led soldiers in combat, planned and executed over 400 missions during Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he served as Personal Security Detail for the Commanding General of Task Force 134 in Iraq . His military experience built strong leadership, discipline, and mentorship skills he brings to every role.
In his civilian career with the State of Hawaii, James served as a Special Investigator with the Department of Human Services, fighting welfare fraud to protect taxpayer dollars and ensure program integrity. He is currently the Deputy Director of the Hawaii National Guard Youth Challenge Academy, where he helps guide at-risk youth toward success through structure, mentorship, and personal development.
James has also worked as a local actor, appearing in background roles on major television shows such as Magnum P.I., NCIS: Hawaii, major and independent films shot in Hawaii, and co-starring in the locally produced mini-series Finding Kate which aired on KHON2.
Previously, he served as Union Steward and State Director for the Hawaii Government Employees Association (HGEA), representing over 12,000 members, and as a Legislative Aide in the Hawaii State House of Representatives.
A longtime Community Advocate, James is Past President of the Chinatown Lions Club, former Vice Chair of the Downtown-Chinatown Neighborhood Board, Life Member of VFW Post 8616, Aloha Shriners and more. He has led youth mentorship programs, community clean-ups, and graffiti abatement efforts throughout the community.
James holds a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) and a Bachelor's in Political Science from Hawai'i Pacific University. He is running for State Senate to deliver accountable government, stronger communities, and real opportunities for Hawaii’s working families and youth.
